Error Code:

Black Frame

Definition:

Black Frame is an extraneous or missing frame. It impacts the content and technical quality of an asset. The customer experience is negatively impacted by a frame dropping out, and is typically not creatively intended. If there are any derivatives of the asset, it will be of poor quality and unusable.

Needs Fix

A frame drops from the image in a non-motivated fashion (e.g. an unintentional light flicker; a cut-to-black for a fade-up).

Solution:

A frame was likely dropped during output of the final asset, or a frame was corrupted/displaced. If the black frame occurs between two shots, ensure they were properly edited together and that a blank frame does not exist between them.
