Video Noise refers to footage that contains visible particle artifacts and causes the overall footage to be blurry, hard to see, or overly active and distracting. This error impacts the content quality of an asset. If the video noise is severe and the image quality becomes degraded, it may negatively impact the customer experience as the viewer may be unable to discern on-screen action. This maybe a creative choice for the program, but should never inhibit the consumption of the program. If there are any derivatives of the asset, it will contain the video noise.
The scene has noise patterns on surfaces; it is a creative and consistent look for the show.
The noise patterns are more noticeable in solid color surfaces or shadows. It may be creative intent for the look of the show (e.g. "film style").
The video noise patterns are moving quickly and are obscuring on-screen elements.
Review and confirm if this is creative intent; otherwise, try to use noise reduction software. In more severe examples, the shot may need to be replaced.
