WHAT IS FLOW PRODUCTION TRACKING (FKA SHOTGRID)?
Flow Production Tracking (fka ShotGrid) is a third-party production tracking web application. As part of Netflix's VFX Reporting process, production partners can submit critical production data to Netflix VFX title management for review. Netflix relies on ShotGrid Status Reporting to provide productions and vendors with a quick and easy way to report on and manage asset lists and shots. Having this information helps all of us understand the health of the show and allows your Netflix partners to get in front of potential issues.
ACCOUNT REQUIREMENTS
To access Netflix ShotGrid Status Reporting (netflix-review.shotgunstudio.com) for your project, you need the following:
- An active Netflix Partner account. If you have not previously set up a Netflix Partner account, you will receive an email prompting you to create a password. Complete this step before attempting to access ShotGrid reporting.
- An Autodesk ID (ShotGrid) account. This can only be created once the first step is completed. When your Netflix VFX Contact on-boards you to ShotGrid for the first time, you’ll receive a ShotGrid welcome email. If you have not received an email, please check your spam folder.
If you are running into issues or unsure of what to do during the onboarding and account creation process, do not hesitate to reach out to your Netflix VFX contact to assist you.
SETTING UP YOUR AUTODESK ID ACCOUNT
To begin, open the ShotGrid welcome email in your inbox and click on the button that says "ACCEPT INVITATION" or "ENTER SITE".

If your email has the “ACCEPT INVITATION” button, it will take you to a brief web form with your pre-filled ShotGrid email address. Please set your password and complete your Autodesk ID creation using this form. |

If your email has the "ENTER SITE" button, you may already have an Autodesk ID. This will take you to the main ShotGrid review site at netflix-review.shotgunstudio.com. From there, and click on the “Sign In with Autodesk ID” button to continue and complete the account creation process. |
SETTING UP 2FA (2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION)
Once your Autodesk ID has been created, you must also configure 2FA to meet our security requirements for accessing the Netflix-review ShotGrid site.
- To start, go to https://profile.autodesk.com/security and select “Set up” under “2-step verification” to set up 2FA.
- You will be prompted for your username (email address) and password, and then you may select “GET STARTED” to begin configuration.
- Lastly, you will need install an authenticator app on your mobile device to generate a code. Autodesk supports all time-based on-time passcode (TOTP) authenticator apps. A few examples are Cisco Duo, Google Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator, all of which are free. More instructions can be found here.

With an Autodesk ID created and 2FA established, you can now access https://netflix-review.shotgunstudio.com using the “Sign in with Autodesk ID” button.
