Error Code:

SCANTYPE-NotInterlaced

Error Message:

interlace probability: tff=0.000630, bff=0.000989, worst=[176000,176200]

Definition:

The file header indicates the content is interlaced, however image analysis suggests the presence of progressive images.

We need the content to be flagged correctly so that the correct processing is performed on the file as it goes through our system.

When a file is flagged as interlaced we perform a deinterlace. However if the content is actually progressive, then the resulting streams may appear soft as we have applied an unnecessary deinterlace on it.

Solution:

Check the file to ensure that the header information matches the content in terms of progressive or interlaced.

For MPEG2 this requires a transcode. If the issue affects a ProRes asset you can attempt to adjust the field order tag within JES Extensifier.
