What is P3?
P3 is a theatrical color space standardized by DCI, used in color grading. DCI-P3 gets converted into the XYZ 'container' for DCP packaging and projection in theaters. P3 is also often used in HDR grading.
Director, Media Engineering & Partnerships
Chris Fetner began his entertainment career as an Operations Manager at a local PBS affiliate in Washington, DC. He went on to serve as a producer for several local and national television programs including the award-winning medical and science show "Frontiers of Medicine". In 2002, he joined Discovery Communications as a post-production and operations executive seeing them through a transformation to an all-digital workflow. Before joining Netflix in June of 2012, Chris spent nine years with BBC Worldwide in New York as the Vice President of Post Production and Technical services. In that capacity he oversaw all technical operations supporting both the cable network BBC America and their distribution to EST, VOD, and SVOD customers. At Netflix he and his team serve as the primary technical liaisons with Content Owners and Service Vendors supplying the platform. He deploys tools, processes and knowledge to make delivering high quality content simple and efficient to Netflix.
Manager, Production Engineering, Studio Technologies
Jimmy joined the Studio Technologies team in late 2016. Prior to joining Netflix, he was VP of Engineering and Shared Services at Technicolor, managing the groups responsible for data management, QC, color science, operations, encoding and media services, subtitling, engineering and facilities, as well as production software development and operational improvements. At Sony, Jimmy was VP of Operations for Colorworks, a color correction facility that specialized in 4K and UHD finishing and remastering. Jimmy now applies his knowledge of post-production and image management to support Netflix Originals productions from capture to delivery and archive, ensuring their visions reach audiences with the greatest fidelity achievable... for as long as possible.
Sr Engineer, Studio Technologies
In 1999, Steven Kang started his career in compression, encoding and streaming media. After working at various start-ups and companies such as Sonic Foundry and Sorenson Media, in 2001 he joined Fotokem, one of the major post-production facilities in Hollywood, as a Video Encoding Engineer. At Fotokem he learned a wealth of knowledge about post-production and tied this into his knowledge of compression. In 2006, he joined Netflix to help build out what is now one of the world’s largest and most scalable content ingestion and encoding platforms. With his knowledge of digital media and post-production workflows, he now researches emerging technologies and provides technical requirements for Netflix productions to help future-proof the content and provide the highest quality experience for Netflix subscribers.
Production Engineer, Studio Technologies
Chris Clark joined Netflix in 2015 as Production Engineer for Original Content. He began his career working at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on the ACES project, a standardized color management system for feature film and TV finishing. In 2010, he put the system into practice and spent five years as the Color Scientist for Sony Pictures Colorworks, a 4K D.I. and mastering facility. There, he saw the transition from supporting traditional 35mm film workflows to designing fully digital HDR-ready pipelines from on-set through post-production. At Netflix, he supports productions across the feature, TV, and documentary spectrum as part of their evolution into a next-generation studio. He graduated with a degree in Motion Picture Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Production Engineer, Studio Technologies
Mike joined the Studio Technologies team at Netflix in 2016. Prior to working at Netflix, he helped usher in 4K SDR and HDR workflows for new release, TV, and mastering titles as Executive Director of Post Production Technologies at Sony Pictures and Colorworks. Mike began his post production career as an Editor and Engineer in New York in the late 1990’s, and then transitioned to Post Logic as a full time telecine Engineer. As Digital Intermediate work started picking up in NYC, he joined Technicolor, where he worked on a number of high profile feature films and TV shows. Now at Netflix, he is helping to usher in new technologies, and give technical guidance and support to Netflix Original Productions.

Joe O'Hanlon joined Netflix in August 2014 as an MEP Engineer. Joe has been a part of the Home Video revolution since it evolved from its infancy (VHS and Betamax) through DVD, BluRay, VOD and now, Netflix streaming. During that time, Joe served as Chief Engineer at major facilities such as Modern Videofilm, Pacific Ocean Post (POP) and Complete Post (Technicolor). He brings deep insights into his work with our production and media processing partners.
Vendor Relations Manager, Netflix Preferred Vendor Program
Tova brings a diverse international experience to the Netflix team. Before joining Netflix, she worked as an Operations Manager for El Al international Airlines in Europe, Tel Aviv and the USA. At the end of the year 2000, she immigrated to America and launched a career in the post production industry. Her areas of expertise include compression, authoring, subtitling, digital distribution, creative services and online management tools. With this Tova brings ten years of business development experience and a successful career in building relationships with vendors and clients on a global scale. As the NPV Program Relations Manager, she monitors the Netflix Preferred Vendors performance, evolves and strengthens the program, and acts as a liaison between the operations group and the NPVs.
Vendor Relations Specialist, Netflix Preferred Vendor Program
Sy joined the Business Development team at Netflix in November of 2016. He started his career in the entertainment industry as a DVD Authoring Engineer and transitioned into one of the pioneers for Deluxe Media in Blu-ray authoring. Experience amassed over 12 years in additional roles in application development and ultimately an Account Director in digital distribution. He now brings this experience to bolster the NPV program as a Vendor Relations Specialist by maintaining communication channels across NPVs and operations and assisting with the execution of vendor relation initiatives.
Vendor Relations Manager, New Markets
Frances brings over 16 years of experience ranging from business analysis, creative development, production, post-production, and distribution. Prior to Netflix, she was Director of Media Fulfillment for Sesame Workshop, where she worked to ensure shows like Sesame Street, Elmo's World, Pinky Dinky Doo could be broadcast in over 150 countries worldwide. Some of her favorite past projects include, fast forward localization of outreach kits for Haitian Earthquake relief, choosing foreign language voice actors for iconic characters like Bert & Ernie, and working closely with the legendary talent of Sesame Street and beyond. Frances joined Netflix at the end of January 2015, and oversees vendor relations for new markets. Using a combination of metrics, market research, testing, and business appraisals, she evaluates all vendors interested in becoming a Netflix Preferred Vendor, as well as potential service additions and rate changes to the program.

Eric Pham started his Netflix career in 2014 as a member of Content Operations. He managed the distribution relationship with major studios such as NBCU, Sony, and Paramount and has been a significant operational contributor to Netflix's international launches from Germany/France to Rest of World. He built models to simplify team metrics and led rights/language projects essential to the Rest of World launch. In February of 2017, Eric joined the Media Engineering & Partnerships team and is now responsible for evaluating vendors interested in joining the NPV program.
Vendor Insight Specialist, New Markets
Yoko brings over 16 years of extensive finance and administration background from global companies, such as Disney and Activision, and experience supporting Engineering Teams in post production world. Prior to joining Netflix, she was Director of Technology Administration at Deluxe Media, where she was the financial data expert supporting Applications Development, Video Engineering, Data I/O, Production Network, and Production IT teams, and governing all aspects of Procurement for the division. Yoko joined Netflix in June of 2016 as a Vendor Insight Specialist. She is responsible for organizing, researching and providing data-driven insights on rates, vendors, new markets, and new service options for Netflix's Digital Supply Chain.

Nick Levin studied Film & Digital Media at The University of California, Santa Cruz and applied his studies towards building a boutique DVD Authoring and production lab. In 2007, Nick joined Netflix on the Video Encoding team which led to a role in 2010 focused on building global partnerships with Post Houses and Content Owners. Nick has been involved in every launch from Canada to Italy. Nick now manages the global team of engineers responsible for bringing the entertainment industry into this new era of Internet television. Fun Fact: Nick and his friends made a short film that won several awards at the 2009 San Francisco 48 Hour Film Festival.

Joanna Chan started her Netflix career in 2011 as a member of the Encoding team at the Los Gatos headquarters, where she introduced partner metrics to the digital supply chain. These metrics are now the backbone of our Netflix Preferred Vendor program and have been instrumental in shaping industry behavior. In 2012, Joanna joined the Media Engineering & Partnerships team in Beverly Hills and is now a Senior Engineer on the Licensed Content side. While she has had a hand in launching Europe, Asia Pacific and "Rest of World" (130 countries simultaneously), one main focus this year will be localizing our existing content catalogs in the rest of APAC and beyond. Along with Netflix CPO Neil Hunt and other key supply chain leaders, Joanna attended the Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards this year to accept the Emmy for our achievements in pioneering captioning standards in the industry. Fun fact: Over the course of her Netflix career, Joanna has flown enough miles to circle the globe 5.62 times, spending an average of 1 out of every 8.9 days traveling for work.

Sean joined Netflix in January 2015 and brought with him 8 years of experience from the post-production facility world. Having previously been responsible for researching, implementing and testing transcoding and QC workflows at re:fine (now Visual Data London), he now makes that experience available to Netflix Fulfillment Partners. He aims to help our partners put together Netflix workflows and best practices in order to allow them to deliver the highest quality assets possible. When he’s not helping our partners, Sean can be found asking his colleagues "So, when’s the next season of Arrested Development happening?"

Tara Kozuback joined Netflix in 2015. Most recently, she was the Director of Technical Operations for a post-production and media processing facility at 20th Century Fox where she was responsible for developing scalable workflow solutions and servicing the needs of the studio’s digital supply chain. Previous to that, she worked at Apple as a certified trainer of post-production applications while pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Digital Media. At Netflix, she leverages her leadership skills and extensive encoding and post-production background to foster strong partnerships with Fulfillment Partners while driving scale, metrics and visibility.

Haruka joined Netflix in April 2016 as Engineer for Media Engineering & Partnerships. She started her career as application engineer in 1999 giving her technical expertise to her customers through demos, trainings, and support on various products for production and post production including NLEs, color management systems, video servers, and storage solutions. Most recently, she was Solution Architect at Rohde & Schwarz where she provides workflow solutions for broadcasters and post houses.
Partner Testing Specialist, Licensed Content
Kiley started her film career in production, using her creative talents to work as a key member of the art department for various indie films shot around New York City. Her passion for both film and technology naturally led her into the world of Digital Distribution and Home Entertainment, where she fulfilled Video Technician roles at both Deluxe Media New York and Giant Interactive. Kiley proved herself to be an integral part of both companies with her responsibilities including creating concise processing workflows and delivering many high profile titles to Netflix. Kiley joined Netflix in 2016, where she applies her knowledge of production and post-production to help Fulfillment Partners usher their content to Netflix and their subscribers at the highest possibly quality.

Justin began his career in the digital entertainment industry in 2012. He identified his passion for file-based workflows during his tenure at Deluxe managing component-based deliveries to iTunes. Justin later joined 20th Century Fox as a Digital Servicing Specialist where he managed the technical lifecycle of diverse digital media assets for distribution to Netflix and played a key role in the development of scalable workflows. His success in this role led him to Netflix as a Content Distribution Specialist where he managed delivery partnerships with major studios and independent productions. Justin joins the Media Engineering & Partnerships team to support our delivery partners around the globe and acts as a frontline technical resource and educator. Partner Engagement Engineer
Brian started his career in 1996 at a satellite communications company focused on spot tv distribution for Proctor and Gamble and the major Hollywood studios. From there he moved to Vidfilm where he learned all tape and media formats in audio and video through QC and tape operations roles. In 1998, he began work at The Post Group where he learned color science and telecine assisted on David Fincher's Fight Club, Seven remastering, and Panic Room. Brian lastly joined Deluxe in 2000 where he led the creation of the video compression department and spent 15 plus years in various roles from Operations to leading worldwide Technology and Engineering. Brian joined the Media Engineering and Partnerships team in 2016 to devote his focused attention to hardware and software provider partnerships for strategic expansion of IMF support and other Netflix initiatives.
